Blackjack is highly based on the mathematics. Try and understand the strategy in the form of simple equations. After the dealer has dealt the first two cards, you receive a 5 and 3 i.e. a total of 8. You should hit with out a thought. Draw another 3, to make a total of 11, hit immediately. You must be wondering, how you can come to know, when to hit, stand or surrender! Follow the instructions carefully. When ever you do not posses an ace, i.e. you have a hard hand, follow the following instructions. A total of eight or less always calls for hitting. If, you get a total of nine, hit. But if the dealer has a 3 through 6, double down (to double your initial bet). If you get a total of 10, hit. But if the dealer has a two through nine, double down. If you get a total of eleven, hit only if the dealer has an ace. If the dealer has a two through ten, double down.
