You can split if you have pairs of aces and eights. Don’t try doing the same on the face cards (cards with faces on it i.e. jacks, kings or queens) or tens. You should have a fair idea of when to hit and when to stand or double. You can continue hitting till you reach a total of 17 or more. You require being flexible for this game. But people tend to forget the rule of thumb as they get highly excited. Don’t hesitate to say the saving words” I give up”. These words will do you good only. Play for money not pride. Anger and disappointment can ruin your game and life. You should analyze the current situation and surrender. Try to opt for an early surrender to save your money. Only practice and experience can teach you when o surrender. You can even surrender after viewing the initial two cards. This way you can save at least half of your bet by not playing your hand.
